So what's been going on... well, lots! Sophia and I have been training in martial arts for about 3 months now. On Saturday, Sophia and I will be testing for our orange belts. I am so nervous but it has been challenging and fun. I wish I would have tried it years ago because I am so in love with martial arts. Our school is mixed martial arts so we learn all types. I mean, where as an adult can you get away with kicking, punching and yelling? It is such a great stress relief. Plus I enjoy sharing this activity with my daughter. Wish us luck!

Another thing happening is where to send Sophia to kindergarten? So her dad and I live on opposite ends of town and the schools we are zoned for are so-so. And with all the budget cuts in Nevada, well the public schools here are losing so much funding. Class size of 30, I don't think so. So Shaheen and I have had long discussions as to where is the best place to send Sophia. The chance of a variance is super slim here in Washoe County. Where else? Catholic school? Um, not so much, nothing against them it is just not our first choice. Sophia and I went to tour a school called Brookfield. It is a private school K-8, 150 students total. Class size is 12 to 1, their reading and math scores are in the top 10% in the nation, traditonal calendar school year.... so we fell in love with this school and that is where Sophia will be attending. We are truly blessed that we can send Sophia to such a great school. We put down the deposit today so off to Brookfield she goes in September :-( my baby is growing up too fast!

Rick and I

I am a little behind, sorry. As you know, Rick and I went to Cancun in February and had a blast like always. This time we went with Rick's cousin, Raquel and her husband, Chris. It was great to have gret traveling companions. Above are some pictures documenting our trip.

I love weekends! I had another great one with my husband and my daughter. The three of us went to the movies and saw Alvin and the Chipmunks on Friday night. And of course, Sophia's favorite were the Chipettes! On the ride home she told us that she wanted to be a singer and a marital arts teacher when she grows up! The kids say the darndest things :) Saturday, Sophia got to spend night at Nana and Papa's house. She loves it there. Iasked her what she liked about Nana and Papa's and one of the things she said is that 'Nana lets me stay in the bath a really long time' and she said 'Nana doesn't make me nap'. We could not drive fast enough to take her. Rick and I went to dinner with a group of people (mostly his family) to celebrate his sister, Evelyn's birthday. We went to dinner and then out dancing. We had such a blast. It is rare that we go to a club but Rick and I do enjoy dancing ever once in a while. Hope you all have a great week!

I cannot say this enough but I am the luckiest mom. I have such an amazing daughter, Sophia. Here are some recent pictures of her.

Here is one of our dogs, Lucky! He is such a good dog, just follows us around the house.

So enough pictures, now what is going on in my life......
Work is keeping me busy- being the practice manager of an internal medicine office always keeps me on my toes. Will now works with us 2 days a week helping us with marketing. Check out the website that Will helped revamp.... www.centerforhealthimreno.com. I am working 4 days a week, Monday through Thursday. Rick and I finally have some days off together Friday and Saturday. Rick is working as a bike sergeant, pedal bike that is, in the downtown district. He has that assignment for 3 years so we know for 3 years we will have 2 days off together, we previously had none! Yeah for us! Sophia is now taking martial arts and loving it! Her friend Bella is taking it with her so she just loves it, 2 nights a week! She is in preschool half days 3 days a week. I am so grateful because she goes to school 2 blocks away from our office so I walk to pick her up and then she naps at the office. Greg and Ryan are doing in well in Oregon. We miss them but see them often. They will be here in 2 weeks for a few days. So until the next time and I promise not to go so long without blogging... enjoy my story and may this blog find you with lots of love around you always and forever.

I can't remember if I posted pictures on my previous blog from our honeymoon but here they are. We stayed in Cabo at a place called the Pueblo Bonito. A beautiful resort. The above picture is the view from our balcony. We had a great time like always but a little long to be away from Sophia. Really really missed her and her smile even though we were only gone 7 days. This next trip we are going to Skype which could help but it also could make me miss her more!

And I cannot forget 3 of the 4 most important men in my life. I have the best Dad too, even though he gave me the worst knees! And my handsome brothers! We are so so happy to have Matt and Monica back in Nevada. It is so rad to have everyone together again! I know my parents just love it!

I apologize for the above picture of me, I have no makeup on!
These pictures are from a recent dinner at my parents house. I have the most beautiful mom and sister-in-law EVER!

Here are some pictures from Christmas day!

In November, my mom and I took Sophia to see Disney's 'Princesses On Ice' and she loved it!

and here are more snow pictures of my angel making snow angels!

And my little angel, Sophia, keeps growing! She is the most amazing, most loving, most sensitive girl! I just feel so honored to be her mom. Here are some pictures of her in our last snow fall about a month ago...

I have had the most amazing past 4 months being married to Rick. Gag, I know. But he is such a rad person, I wish you all could meet him. Here are some pics from our most recent adventure, wine tasting in Sonoma this past weekend. We went with Rick's cousin Raquel and her husband, Chris. We rented a limo and got crunk (haha Mom). LOL. Seriously, we had a blast!

Next stop is Cancun next month!

So I am back blogging inspired by my cousins who just recently updated their blogs, I will start my blog again!

Here are some pics, a glimpse into my hectic, hectic, hectic life......
